Volunteer

The GFCSD Backpack Program is powered entirely by volunteers. Every week, community members help shop, organize, pack, and deliver food bags to students throughout the district.  

Whether you can help regularly or just once in a while, we are always grateful for extra hands and support.

Many of our volunteers are parents, school staff, retirees, students, and community members!

Volunteers help with:

• Packing weekly food bags

• Organizing donations and supplies

• Shopping for food items

• Delivering bags to school buildings

• Assisting with food drives and special events

Volunteer Opportunities

Packing Bags

Volunteers help sort and pack kid-friendly food items into weekly food bags for students.

Shopping & Organizing

Help purchase supplies, organize donations, stock shelves, and prepare food items for packing days.

Deliveries

Volunteers help deliver packed food bags to school buildings throughout the district.

Food Drives & Special Events

We often need volunteers to help with food drives, community events, and preparing larger break bags before holidays and school vacations.
